Updated Summer VB Plan

Here is an updated (some small modifications) list of the summer volleyball offerings.  If you have questions or conflicts and need answers, please contact Coach Dehnel at stmavb@gmail.com.
When registering, Ages are based on grades NEXT fall  (Sept 2012).



Weekly Volleyball (starts June 18) 
Position Training (Left, Right, Middle, or DS): Grades 9-12, Mon/Wed, 9:00-10:15am at the high school
Setter School: Grades 7-12, Mon/Wed, 9:00-10:15 (for players serious about setter training)
Advanced Open Gym: Grades 10-12, plus 9th graders with at least one season of Junior Olympic volleyball experience, Tues/Thurs, 9-10:15 am
Intermediate Open Gym: Grades 7-8 plus 9th graders who have never played Junior Olympic volleyball, Tues/Wed/Thurs, 7:30-8:45 am

***Girls going into 6th grade who have played at least one year of Junior Olympic volleyball may register
    for UND camp, STMA Skills camp, setter school and/or intermediate open gym.

Grades K-2, Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30 at HS Activity Center
Grades 3-5, Wednesdays, 11:30-12:30 at HS Activity Center

Camps (at STMA)
University of North Dakota STMA camp, June 11-13, STMA HS Main Gym
Girls going into 10-12th grade and 9th with both school and JO volleyball experience, 1:00-4:00 pm
7-8th graders and 9th graders with school volleyball or no previous experience, 5:30-8:00 pm

Iowa State University STMA Camp, July 23-24, site TBD (HS gym or AC)
Girls going into grades 9-12 next fall
July 23: 1-4 and 5:30-8:00 pm
July 24: 8:30-11:30 am and 1-4 pm

STMA Skills Camp - tentative dates August 7-9, morning sessions and possible afternoon sessions
For girls going into grades 7-9, and 6th graders who have played YDT for 3 years or JO for one year.


Team Camps (at college campus)
SMSU Team Camp,  July 15-19, Depart Sunday afternoon, return Thursday night

10-12 returning players in the running for JV/V, invite only
Roster as of April 9: Candice Yager, Becky Hackenmueller, Kelly Larkin, Paige O'Connor, Jenny Olejar, Courtney Wooters, Malissa LeClaire, Meagan Ghinter (2-4 more players will be added before the end of the school year)

Augsburg Team Camp, July 27-28      ***This camp has not officially been decided on.

10-12 returning players in the running for B/JV/V, invite only
Roster will be announced later this spring

Summer Camp Registration

Hi All!
Here is the plan for summer camp registration...

• Open Gyms and STMA Middle School camps: will be on the community ed site soon, flyers will go out at spring meetings and be available for download from the websites
• UND and Iowa State camps: flyers will be distributed to JO families as soon as they are complete, and will be handed out at spring volleyball meetings, and available on the volleyball websites (next week)
• YDT Camps: handled by the JO/YDT organization, but I think the flyers are out for those.
