CONGRATULATIONS to Jody Olejar for winning the Female Class 1 competition at the Mississippi 8 Conference Weightlifting meet this past Monday. Jody posted a weight total of 215 (120 powerclean, 95 on bench press) to finish first out of 16 competitors. Missy Hackenmueller also competed well, placing 6th in the Female 1 group with a weight total of 195. In the Female 2 class, Jenny Olejar finished 3rd (14 competitors) with a total weight of 235 (130 lbs on powerclean, 105 lbs on bench). Each of these classes had girls grades 9-12 from schools around the Mississippi 8 Conference. Way to go girls!!!!
Overall, STMA had one of their best team performances at the meet, with both boys and girls finishing in the top 5 of nearly every class. I am excited to get back in the weight room this summer to get more girls going on improving their athleticism and performance on the court through some focused strength and agility training!
